Hannah Shepherdis a Registered Veterinary Nurse with 38 years' experience in the veterinary profession and a proud member of the British Veterinary Nursing Association.

Throughout her career, Hannah has worked across a wide range of veterinary settings, including large and small animal practice, ECC and wildlife conservation. Her experience has given her a deep understanding of the important role veterinary nurses play, not only in clinical care, but also in supporting pets and their owners beyond the practice.

That's where the idea for zumi began.

Hannah wanted to create a simple way for pet owners to access trusted, professional care at home, while complementing the care provided by veterinary practices. zumi connects pet owners with Registered Veterinary Nurses for affordable, non-clinical in-home pet care — giving owners more choice, supporting veterinary teams in caring for their clients outside the practice, and giving RVNs the opportunity to use their skills in new ways.

Over 3.5 years, Hannah worked closely with app developers and consulted with the RCVS and BVNA to ensure zumi was designed around the professional standards and responsibilities of veterinary nurses.

zumi is built around a simple idea: bringing the skills, experience and reassurance of veterinary nurses into more aspects of everyday pet care.
