RCVS Compliant
You must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a valid RCVS registration number.
Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance
Before accepting bookings, you'll need both public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance to cover all the services you choose to offer. There are plenty of great insurance providers available, so it's worth taking the time to find a policy that's right for you.
DBS Checks
Working with animals doesn't automatically require a DBS check. However, some veterinary nurses may choose to obtain a Basic DBS Check to give pet owners added reassurance when providing services in their home. A Basic DBS Check currently costs £18.

Do I need to be currently practising in a clinical setting?
No - you don't need to be in active clinical employment to join zumi. For some nurses, it's a way to earn extra income after leaving clinic work and continue helping animals in the community.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes, absolutely. You have full control over your pricing for every service you offer. You can adjust your prices at any time through the app. zumi charges a small platform fee per booking — we never take a cut of your rate-setting.
What insurance do I need?
Before accepting bookings, you'll need both public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance to cover all the services you choose to offer. There are plenty of great insurance providers available, so it's worth taking the time to find a policy that's right for you.
How do I get paid?
Payments are processed securely through Stripe, a trusted payment provider. To start receiving payments through zumi, please set up your Stripe account by clicking the link below. Funds are transferred directly to your nominated bank account, less the zumi connection fee.
